The success of a series of guides or consulting services can largely be determined by the qualifications of the person providing the information. What gives this person the background and skills to advise me on this subject? What knowledge and experience do they have which will enable them to give me an insight in to making New Zealand my home?
All of us at Make New Zealand Home have first hand experience of making such a move. I myself am a Brit born and bred. Having married my Kiwi husband, Wayne, in 2000 I made the move to New Zealand. Through personal experience I have worked through all the elements covered in these guides and services and learnt so much about how to embrace New Zealand as your home. In addition to my own personal experiences, I have worked with a British emigration company as an Employment Consultant finding jobs for new migrants. Through this role I gained an in-depth understanding of the ever-changing New Zealand Immigration system and learnt how to use the system to your advantage – maximising your chances of gaining residency. But even more valuable were the hundreds of personal stories of individuals, couples and families emigrating to New Zealand to start a new life. I found that the hurdles and pitfalls they faced were very similar and many times these would prove too much for people and they would abandon their emigration dreams. Sometimes this would happen before they had even completed Visa application forms, but other times it would be six months after arriving in New Zealand with all their belongings shipped over, a new house, a mortgage, having started a new job and with their kids started at new schools.
I was often amazed that people would come so far and yet abandon their dream when things did not turn out as expected. Having made the move to New Zealand myself I knew from experience what a fantastic country it is to live in. A young, vibrant country full of opportunities yet at the same time a country full of history and culture that gives its people a deep sense of identity and pride. The hurdles people faced seemed to be common to most migrants and if only they were informed and well prepared for these they could be overcome. This realisation acted as the catalyst for establishing this website and the services it provides. If we could offer comprehensive support and guidance relating to the key areas of consideration when emigrating, then we could equip potential migrants with the skills and information they needed to successfully make New Zealand their home.
Whether you purchase our series of guides or chat with likeminded migrants on the forum, we hope that the information, products and services on offer help you to achieve your dream and make New Zealand your home.
